Gators

Something about being able to get a great shot of an Alligator that's just appealing to folks. For sure it is to me. Enjoy.

Swamps-1

This is Louisiana, of course we love our swamps. I take photo's every opportunity I have. Now that I have a couple of nicer cameras I hope to get some even better photo's in the near future.

I find landscapes such as this to be tranquil and beautiful. I see many of them in my travels around Acadiana but sadly, I don't often have the opportunity to stop and take photos.

 

Les Herbs

May seem boring to some, but close up photo's of weeds and grass can be beautiful. Here I focus on things that we have seen our whole lives living here in Louisiana. Things often overlooked as we go about our lives, but sometimes when we slow down and just take in our surroundings we find beauty in the simplest of things.

Spanish Moss

To me there is something special about seeing Spanish Moss hanging from trees. It takes me back to my childhood and it just screams home to me. So it goes without saying that when I have the opportunity I take photo's of the beautiful Moss hanging from trees. (Click on the photo's to see them full screen)

Insects-1

A few insects to get things going.

Caught this garden spider (aka Banana Spider) with my HP point and shoot back in 2010.

Used a macro lens on my Android phone to catch this mosquito.

At the beach in Lake Charles using my Nikon Coolpix B500

I don't know what those black wasps are called, but we have a bunch of them. Not aggressive and I would guess the only way you can get stung is to grab the thing.

I caught this carpenter bee in flight while outside taking photo's of my son. It's not perfect but for me I thought it came out pretty good. Used a Canon Rebel T6i with a 250mm lens

Birds-1

This is an old photo from probably mid-80's. The roosters were "boxing" (no spurs). You're unlikely to see this legally ever again here in the USA. (Resolution is not great on this. I'm posting it because of the unique nature of the photo)

Cormorants

Not the best shot, but it was the best I could do at the time. Literally shot from my car window stopped on the side of the road, hurrying before the next car came down the road.
